The Center for Continuing Education in the Electoral Field (CICDE) announces that the Special Prize for schools in Moldova in the international essay competition organized by the Authority for European Political Parties and European Political Foundations (APPF) was won by the 10th grade B from the “Mihail Sadoveanu” Theoretical High School in Chisinau, under the guidance of teacher Maria Stoian.

The competition, titled “EU Democracy and Digital Transformation: What are the Challenges and Opportunities for Democratic Processes?” , brought together 13 classes from across the country, with students challenged to express their thoughts and visions in writing and video on how digital technology influences European democracy.

The winning essay was selected following a rigorous international evaluation process, and the 10th grade B students will benefit from a unique experience: a guided tour of one of the European Parliament’s headquarters – in Brussels or Strasbourg – where they will have the opportunity to interact with European personalities and better understand how the European institutions work.

“The only authentic path to success in a competition is the combination of effort, perseverance, courage and dedication. Only in this way will the result not be a simple victory, but a triumph with an echo – profound, lasting and worthy of remembrance. We simply do not know any other recipe” – declared teacher Maria Stoian, coordinator of the winning class.

The trip is planned to take place in May-June, and all expenses will be covered by APPF for up to 30 students and two teachers.

CICDE congratulates the winning class, the coordinating teacher and the entire community of the “Mihail Sadoveanu” High School for their involvement, creativity and valuable contribution to promoting European democratic values among the young generation.

We remind you that the initiative of this competition belongs to the Authority for European Political Parties and European Political Foundations (APPF), with the Center for Continuing Education in the Electoral Field (CICDE) participating as a partner organization in the Republic of Moldova.
