The campaign “Protect the family from violence”
In the context of the International Family Day, the Promo-LEX Association, the Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims “Memoria” and the Association against Domestic Violence “Casa Marioarei” are implementing the information and awareness Campaign “Protect the family from violence”. The campaign is carried out in partnership with the Multidisciplinary Territorial Teams from nine rayons: Glodeni, Telenesti, Falesti, Anenii Noi, Ialoveni, Cahul, Orhei, Comrat and Stefan Voda.
The main idea of this year’s campaign is to contribute to the development of the capacities of the Multidisciplinary Territorial Teams in planning and conducting information campaigns in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence.
To this end, on May 24, 2019, a training workshop for 29 members of the multidisciplinary teams from the aforementioned districts was organized in Chisinau. Later, between 1-25 June, they are to carry out their own campaign activities at the local level.
The first activities were already organized in Nimoreni village, Ialoveni rayon and Viscauti village, Orhei rayon, where members of multidisciplinary teams distributed campaign materials and informed women and girls, as well as the population in general, about the problem of domestic violence and the duties of the local multidisciplinary teams in assisting victims of domestic violence.
The campaign is carried out under the project “Increasing the observance of women’s rights in Moldova through combating gender based violence”, implemented by the Promo-LEX Association, the Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims “Memoria” and the Association against Domestic Violence “Casa Marioarei” with the financial support of the European Union. The overall objective of the project is to increase respect for women’s rights in Moldova by combating gender-based violence.
