The European Union supported local producers at Yard Sale
Small producers from 13 Local Action Groups (LAGs) across the Republic of Moldova gathered at the Yard Sale to present their locally made products. These LAGs benefited from the support from the European Union, international partners and the LEADER Programme.
Participants had the opportunity to showcase their products in Chișinău, offering fresh fruit from their orchards, wax goods, honey, souvenirs, and handicrafts. We also welcomed visitors to the Europe Café tent. Alongside the fair, guests took part in themed workshops, created papier-mâché art, and tested their patience and coordination with EduJoc games.
The “Reuse, Reduce, Recycle” area (Recycline.md) collected plastic waste for repurposing, while the E-Circular stand provided insights into responsible consumption, waste management, and the Zero Waste goal. Visitors also explored the “Moldova Districts” and “Blue Frame” exhibitions, as well as the “In Torbă” social project by Laolaltă NGO.
The Yard Sale community attracted over 1,000 attendees, enjoying the diverse activities on offer. The event provided a platform for promotion, communication, and community empowerment across the country.
The LEADER Programme has been implemented in Moldova since 2016, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) and supported by development partners, including the European Union, Poland, the USA, Switzerland, the UK, Romania, Estonia, the Czech Republic, and others.
