A new exhibition at Europe Café: Artistic intertwining by Eugenia Rusu-Munteanu
Monotypes, acrylic works on canvas and paper — we invite you to explore unique styles and painting techniques at the Artistic Intertwining exhibition by Eugenia Rusu-Munteanu.
From 21 January to 21 February 2025, we welcome you to Europe Café to discover the artworks created by the artist during an academic mobility programme in Málaga, Spain, as part of a cultural project funded by the European Union. The works inspired by Málaga are complemented by creations developed at home, in Moldova.
To gain deeper insights into the exhibition’s concept, join us for a dialogue with the artist at the opening event, which will take place at Europe Café on 21 January 2025 at 17:00.
The technique used is a key element of the exhibition, featuring monotypes and acrylic works on canvas and paper, blending experimentation with sensitivity. Each piece reflects a dialogue between Mediterranean cultural influences and the depth of local traditions.
A central focus of the exhibition is a series of works inspired by the ballad Miorița — an emblematic creation of Romanian culture and spirit. Through these pictorial subjects, the artist highlights the mioritic spirit, visually expressed through symbols and images evoking humanity’s connection to nature, destiny, and identity.
Eugenia Rusu-Munteanu is an artist from the Republic of Moldova, educated at the Academy of Music, Theatre, and Fine Arts (AMTAP). She is carving out a unique path in contemporary art, exploring connections between techniques, cultures, and universal themes. Exhibition curator: Elena Frunze.
The exhibition is open for visits from January 21 to February 21, Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 18:00, at Europe Café. Free entry.
