Just Transition Young Voices Awards 2025. A writing competition for a greener future
The Energy Community Secretariat, co-chaired by the European Commission, has announced the launch of the Just Transition Young Voices Awards 2025. This initiative invites young people aged 18–30 from Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and the Western Balkans to share compelling stories about how their communities are navigating the shift to a greener economy.
The awards aim to promote youth engagement in energy and climate journalism, with a focus on just transition themes. Submissions should be original, fact-based articles (700–1100 words) in English that explore challenges and solutions related to fair and inclusive energy transitions.
Three prizes will be awarded:
- one-month paid internship at the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna;
- field mission on energy transition in the Western Balkans with Bankwatch;
- participation in the Climate Reporting Training with CAN Europe in Ohrid (1–3 September 2025).
Winning pieces will be published on key partner platforms and presented at the Energy Community Just Transition Forum.
The deadline for applications is 28 July.
