We Celebrated the European Spirit in Soroca!

After celebrating Europe Day in Chișinău on 9 May, we set out to bring the spirit of change and a shared European future to Moldova’s regions. That journey also brought us to Soroca. On 16 May, the city was filled with the energy, smiles, and enthusiasm of everyone who chose to celebrate Europe Day with us.

It was a vibrant and heartwarming day that truly reflected the power of friendship and shared values. The EU Delegation’s tent and the Europe Café space quickly became bustling hubs, welcoming large numbers of curious visitors eager to explore and take part.

Here are some of the memorable moments that made the day so special:

– Together, we filled dozens of “European passports” with colourful stamps, turning every activity station into a mini journey across Europe.
– We travelled virtually across the map of Europe, learned about teamwork in the children’s area, and put the “Wheel of Values” to the test.
– The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) zone became a true lesson in democracy, where colourful voting columns clearly highlighted Moldova’s priorities for the future.
– At the end of the route, we took a well-deserved break over a cup of coffee. Coffee was simply the perfect excuse to hear your inspiring ideas and see the confidence with which the people of Soroca look towards our European future.
