European Commissioner for Defence addresses participants of Moldova Security Forum in Chișinău
European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius has addressed the participants of the Moldova Security Forum, which takes place on 8-9 October in Chișinău.
The Commissioner recorded a video message for the Forum’s participants, in which he stressed that “Moldova’s European future and Ukraine’s European future are the primary guarantees of long-term security and peace in Europe.”
Commissioner Kubilius emphasised that in August alone, 13 drones crashed in Moldova – almost as many as in the entire previous year. Furthermore, he reminded that recent elections in Moldova saw the most blatant Russian interference, involving Russian money and Russian information warfare.
The Commissioner thanked Moldovans for their strength, resilience, and concrete actions. “All of Europe can learn from Moldova, and we thank Moldova. You can count on our support,” said Andrius Kubilius.
The Moldova Security Forum takes place every autumn in Chișinău. The third edition of the forum focuses on democratic resilience as a core pillar of national, regional and European security.
