Interns had an open discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister on European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov

The current status of the EU – Republic of Moldova relations, the recent developments of the negotiation process – all these, along with other less official topics – were discussed during the informal meeting held by the interns of the joint Internship Programme of the European Union, Denmark and the Republic of Moldova with the Deputy Prime Minister on European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov.
The official also told about her academic and professional path and the reasons behind choosing a career in the civil service. She encouraged young people to contribute together to building a prosperous future in their home country.
Time was not enough to discuss topics ranging from influence of academic research on public policies, citizens’ engagement in governance, boosting investments, to the necessary skills a civil servant should have and how to better explain the tangible benefits of Moldova’s joining the European family.
Informal discussions with national and international officials form an important part of the interns’ experience, allowing them to address openly their curiosities and become directly involved in the decision making processes.
