Interns start their training sessions with introduction to public administration and effects of law harmonization

The 150 interns – of the joint Internship Programme of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova and of the state-funded Programme – gathered today, 14 July, for their first training session in a series of capacity-building events meant to consolidate their theoretical knowledge in a vast range of topics.
The focus of today’s session was on introduction to public administration – delivered by Oxana Tonconog, main consultant within the State Chancellery; and on the effects of law harmonization – delivered by Klaudijus Maniokas, Senior Expert on Economic Reforms within the EU- and Denmark-funded project ‘Moldova is Europe – Support for EU Integration’.
Interns addressed questions which are of interest to them, were eager to find out in details about the functioning of public administration, peculiarities of the Internship Programme rights and obligations, as well as real effects of law harmonization.
The Internship Programme foresees weekly training sessions with various lecturers – national and international experts, designed to strengthen interns’ skills. The Programme lasts two months, offering students, master students and recent graduates the possibility to work in public institutions, hand in hand with civil servants, and receive a monthly scholarship of 250 Euro.
