Lunga: A family guesthouse expands its offer for visitors

Emma and Dumitru Ciuprină from the village of Lunga have turned “La Iepurași” guesthouse into a family business. The wooden A-frame cabins, lavender garden and spaces for families and groups of tourists contribute to a more diverse tourism offer.

In 2025, the entrepreneurs received an EU grant of nearly 291,000 lei through the SME Tourism Development Programme. The funds were used to purchase ATVs and develop a children’s playground, as part of a total investment of more than 622,000 lei.

The guesthouse has also developed through programmes managed by ODA and co-financed by the European Union. The Ciuprină family’s story shows how a local business can combine its own investments with different forms of support to give visitors more reasons to discover the village.
