Project contributes to preparing the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture for accreditation in line with EU requirements

This week, an expert mission is taking place to assess the institutional and operational readiness of the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) for the accreditation process. The mission is led by senior expert Ales Krisper under the European Union and Denmark-funded project „Moldova is Europe”.
This activity is part of the efforts to support the national system prepare for managing financial support for agriculture and represents an important step towards meeting EU’s requirements for accession under Cluster 5, Chapter 11 (Agriculture and rural development).
During the mission, the expert will assess AIPA’s preparedness to implement EU’s requirements, identify any potential areas of non-compliance, and formulate recommendations to align the institution’s operations with EU’s standards and practices. The assessment covers AIPA’s organisational structure, the allocation of duties and responsibilities, payment administration procedures, internal control and audit mechanisms, and the regulatory framework governing the institution’s activities. It also examines the division of responsibilities between MAFI – acting as the competent authority – and AIPA.
