ActEU for Moldova – Activating Communities for EU Integration

Project Description
ActEU for Moldova – Activating Communities for EU Integration (2026–2028) is a project implemented by People in Need (PIN), in partnership with the National Rural Development Network LEADER (NRDLN) and EcoVisio. The project aims to strengthen civil society organisations (CSOs) and Local Action Groups (LAGs) to become more effective, sustainable, and environmentally responsible actors in supporting local development and Moldova’s EU integration process. Through organisational capacity assessments, greening audits, tailored trainings, mentorship, and Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP), the project will support CSOs and LAGs in improving their internal systems, implementing sustainable initiatives, and actively engaging in community mobilisation and dialogue with public authorities.
Specific Objective
The main objective of the project is to strengthen civil society organisations and Local Action Groups in Moldova by enhancing their organisational capacities, sustainability, and participation in local development and the EU integration process.
Specific objective 1: Diverse civil society organisations play a critical role to encourage active participation of local communities and citizens in achieving societal transformation
Expected Results
1. Civil Society Organisations and Local Action Groups have the organisational management practices, technical skills and resources to lead local sustainable development and community mobilisation initiatives
2. Civil Society Organisations and Networks foster inclusive civic participation in public policy processes and improve civil society-government dialogue
3. Civil Society Organisations and Local Action Groups promote democratic values, pro-democracy discourse and critical thinking among local communities
