With EU support, the Guțu family from Sîngerei is investing in agricultural drones and tractor autoguidance systems

Modern agriculture is no longer just about physical effort and uncertainty, but about efficiency, precision and technology. The Guțu family, founders of Avidinix-Service SRL in Sîngerei, are a good example, having gradually modernised their agricultural business through investments in high-performance equipment and access to government grants.

For 20 years, Victoria and Andrei Guțu have continuously invested in developing their business, purchasing machinery and equipment that enable them to work more efficiently and meet the challenges of agriculture. While they initially had just one tractor, purchased with the money they received as wedding gifts, today the family’s machinery fleet includes modern equipment.

One of their most recent investments is an agricultural drone equipped with artificial intelligence, which can detect obstacles and automatically stop when it encounters one.

This investment came after a difficult season, when heavy rains made it impossible to cultivate some areas of land.

“Spring was rainy; we didn’t have a drone and, on 10–15% of the land, we couldn’t cultivate it and harvested nothing,” the entrepreneur recalls.

At the same time, the Guțu family also makes modern agricultural equipment available to other farmers, thus expanding the business beyond their own agricultural production.

Technology is also part of the children’s involvement in the family business. The Guțu couple actively involve their children in the business. Their younger son already drives the tractor, and to help him work more precisely, his parents equipped the machine with an autoguidance system.

The navigation systems and drone are valued at 700,000 lei. Of this amount, 325,000 lei was provided as a grant through the “Creștem IMM” programme, managed by ODA.

The grants are provided from the state budget by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, with financial support from the European Union through the Growth Plan for Moldova.
