EU4Digital: “Building on the success of eDelivery solution pilots”, new Moldova – Ukraine pilot project to be launched in December 2021

Electronic document exchange continues to be a very hot topic both in EU and Eastern partner countries. Countries are exploring opportunities on how to ensure fast & reliable, but at the same time secure & interoperable exchange of data. One of the alternatives – eDelivery solution, has already been tried and tested within the EU4Digital framework.

To ensure the continuation of the pilot achievements, EU4Digital experts prepared recommendations on how to enable the use of the solution both on a national as well as cross-border level. The pilot countries, Armenia and Ukraine, are already working on recommendations implementation and solution adoption, while non-pilot Eastern partner countries are exploring possibilities to test out the benefits of eDelivery.

The Republic of Moldova (Moldova) was one of the countries that expressed a high willingness and interest to try-out the solution with Ukraine. Therefore, an additional eDelivery pilot between the countries is being initiated. It is foreseen that by the end of 2021 Moldova will become a new member of the global Peppol eDelivery Network, which will allow for the exchange of electronic procurement data with various countries not only in the EU, but also beyond. Ukraine, already a member of the Peppol eDelivery Network for more than a year, will have the opportunity to test how the solution is functioning from the national infrastructure which will facilitate its adoption in the country.

This week marks the initiation of the preparatory actions for the additional eDelivery pilot implementation, which is planned to be launched in December 2021. Throughout the upcoming months, the EU4Digital Facility expert team will be actively working on consulting the pilot countries as well as onboarding selected importing and exporting companies that will participate in the pilot activity.
