European Transport Week 2021

In 2021, the European Transport Week was organised between 17-22 September in Lublin, Poland. The motto of 2021 edition was “Safe and healthy with sustainable mobility” aiming to promote alternative forms of eco-friendly transport.

The 2021 celebration of the European Mobility Week was carried out under the EU-co-funded project “MOVE IT like Lublin – a Chisinau public transport sustainable development initiative.”

The event was officially opened by Mr. Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the City of Lublin, Mr. Grzegorz Malec, Director of the Public Transport Authority in Lublin and Mr. Octavian Lungu, Project Manager of “MOVE IT like Lublin”.

Mr. Lungu remarked in his speech that the project for the modernisation of public transport in Chisinau is carried out with the financial support of the European Union, but also due to the openness of the Lublin partner, for which he thanked local public authorities. “Lublin is an example to follow, in the sense of the changes produced in recent years, but also a model of inspiration. This visit represents a first step in the process of transferring good European practices to Chisinau, in the field of urban mobility.” said Octavian Lungu.

In 2022 in Chisinau will host a similar event, in cooperation with the city of Lublin.
