LEADER approach for the rural prosperity in Moldova

EU-Moldova LEADER Conference, 2nd edition. LEADER across Europe and beyond

The second edition of the EU-MOLDOVA LEADER Conference, the most important event in sharing and discussing the acquired LEADER experience of the Republic of Moldova, will take place tentatively in September 2020. The event will bring together both the EU and non-EU countries to network and reflect on the same approach of rural development challenges across Europe.

The main goal of the Conference is to present the implementation of LEADER approach in Moldova and to create a platform to exchange non-EU & EU LEADER experience. We will celebrate the beautiful achievements the approach acquired last year in the country, including LEADER recognition by the Government. Thus, the Republic of Moldova will be the first non-EU country that implements locally tailored LEADER programme with public funding. This great achievement is the result of the cooperation and continuous dialogue between public institutions, development partners and local people.

The event is focused on the LEADER across Europe experience, providing the guests with many networking opportunities, and also with a beauty of Moldovan rural areas presented within the LEADER open-air fair. This multi-cultural event gathering people from different rural regions of Moldova will be organized in the very centre of Chisinau, at the Palace of the Republic. The LAG fair, which is a tradition for the event, will invite everyone to get to know the wonderful products carefully created, grown and selected by the kind people that are involved within those 32 LAGs across the country.

The conference will gather representatives of 32 Moldovan LAGs and the fellow international LAG members across Europe, representatives of different stakeholders, including the European Commission, authorities from EU and non-EU countries, European LEADER Networks and representatives of European LAGs.

Call for proposals within the EU-LEADER Rural Development Fund, Edition 2020

The Local Action Groups (LAG) of the Republic of Moldova are invited to participate at the EU-LEADER Rural Development Fund — Edition 2020. The Fund’s mission is to consolidate the local development in the Republic of Moldova by co-financing development projects implemented by the local partners. The 2020 edition aims at contributing to the improvement of the rural areas, by promoting and carrying out projects through the LEADER approach. All Moldovan LAGs, which follow the main principles of the LEADER approach and have their own Local Development Strategy, approved by the LAG’s Council, are eligible to apply.

The EU-LEADER Rural Development Fund is launched within the implementation of the “LEADER approach for rural prosperity in Moldova” project, financed by the European Union and Polish Aid, implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova and the National LEADER Network in the Republic of Moldova.
