Developing Cross Border Tourism by Promoting the Mansion of Manuc Bey, Elena Ioan Cuza Mortuary Complex and the Blesciunov Mansion

Project Description
The project's main objective was to improve the economic and social situation in the cross-border region by promoting the tourist sector, and consequently the regional economy, and developing sustainable economic opportunities within the Hincesti-Vaslui and Odessa Region. Rehabilitation of Manuc Bey forms one part of this project. The other two being restoration of Elena Ioan Cuza Monastery Complex in Romanian, and improving the conditions of activity of Blesciunov Mansion in Ukraine.
Specific Objective
- To improve the economic and social situation from the cross-border region by increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to the regional economy and developing sustainable capitalisation opportunities within the Hincesti-Vaslui and Odessa Region.
- To rehabilitate in order to capitalize the touristic objectives found under structural, functional and architectural aspect of the Manuc Bey Mansion, Elena Ioan Cuza Mortuary Complex and Blesciunov Mansion.
- To capitalizing touristic objectives within the Hincesti-Vaslui-Odessa cross-border region through the development and modernization of the information infrastructure.
- To develop the capitalization potential of the touristic area through panels, labels and by creating a new touristic route.
- To strengthen the social and economic cohesion by developing cross border tourism and interinstitutional
contacts within MD-RO-UA.
- To strengthen the social and cultural cohesion within the region by capitalizing and promoting the cultural
patrimony in MD-RO-UA.
- To increase the awareness level within the cross-border region.
Expected Results
- Reconstruction works of Manuc Bey complex is completed.
- Rehabilitation works of Elena Cuza Mortuary complex is completed.
- Modernization works of Bleschiunov Museum completed.
- Integrated IT tool developed.
- 10 info-kiosks are installed and connected to IT platforms, used for communication and visibility purposes.
- 3 workshops are organized, 3 study visits are conducted; 1 awareness campaign is conducted.
