EU4Reforms - DNA

Project Description
The project EU4Reforms – DNA aims to create an operationalised DNA laboratory within the Technical-Legal and Judicial Expertise Centre of the General Police inspectorate. It will further pave the way to establish a DNA database. For this purpose, the Action will support the forensic personnel in preparing for accreditation of the examination methods in applying DNA technology. In addition, the project will create the necessary conditions to enable DNA profiles to be progressively made available to EU Member States' competent law enforcement organisations. Selected DNA profiles will be made available to EU Member States' competent organisations on a hit/no-hit basis, which allows comparing anonymous profiles.
Specific Objective
Moldovan reform efforts in good governance to be advanced
Expected Results
The bilateral police cooperation between the EU Member States and the Republic of Moldova based on the application of the DNA technologies has been strengthened and expert capacities for exchange of DNA profiles have been built.
