Development of Climate Justice and Human Rights Education at the Moldova State University
Project Description
This project aims to establish Human Rights Education in Moldova, with a focus on climate justice, to address the challenges posed by climate change to human rights. It will empower a new generation of experts and defenders, enhancing crisis response capacities for both current and future generations. Key activities include training for professors from the Faculties of Law and Biology at Moldova State University (MSU), equipping them with the knowledge and tools to develop courses on environmental rights and climate justice. The project also includes a specialised English course to improve professors' linguistic skills in these areas, enhancing MSU’s international exchange potential. The “Cross-Regional Spring School in Climate Justice for Human Rights,” a joint initiative with the Global Campus of Human Rights, will provide an innovative academic platform for universities in the Western Balkans, Caucasus, and Eastern Partnership countries, focusing on the link between climate change and children’s rights. A multidisciplinary lab will be established to ensure the sustainability of the project, integrating the knowledge generated into future academic activities, including the Spring School.
