Resilient, Open and Accountable Democracies for the Eastern Partnership (Road4EaP)
Project Description
The "Resilient, Open and Accountable Democracies for the Eastern Partnership (Road4EaP)" Action outlines a roadmap to strengthen democracy and improve citizens' lives in Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries by supporting open, inclusive, and accountable governments capable of resisting corruption. The Action aims to reduce corruption and foster more transparent, citizen-centered governance.
To achieve this, the project promotes anti-corruption and open government reforms, engaging a broad range of government officials, civil society organisations, journalists, and the private sector in EaP countries. Key activities include designing and implementing Open Government Partnership (OGP) action plans, issuing sub-grants to empower civil society, facilitating stakeholder participation in OGP events, hosting regional peer exchanges, and delivering leadership and skill-building trainings, evidence-based recommendations and open government awards that recognise and promote successful reforms.
By strengthening collaboration between governments, civil society, and international partners, the Action seeks to build a culture of transparency, accountability, and citizen participation across the region. Through these initiatives, EaP countries will make meaningful progress in advancing anti-corruption practices, open government reforms, and inclusive governance—ultimately fostering stronger democracies and improved governance.
