Project Description
"Technical assistance to support the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova" is a project aimed to strengthen the National Bureau of Statistics’ coordinating role of the National Statistical System and its capacity to access and use administrative
registers and other data sources of Moldovan institutions for statistical purposes, by enhancing public trust, high quality and accurateness of data provided and processed.

Specific Objective
- To strengthen the National Bureau of Statistics’ coordinating role of the National Statistical System and its capacity to access and use administrative registers and other data sources of Moldovan institutions for statistical purposes, aiming at enhancing public trust, high quality and accurateness of data provided and processed and to promote harmonization of statistics in line with the European Union and international standards, by enabling the efficient and effective production, analysis and dissemination of official statistics, following best practices as implemented in the European Statistical System by adopting new technologies and methods for data collection and processing.

Expected Results
- Institutional capacity of the NBS for efficient and effective development of national statistics strengthened.
- To ensure the national commitment to the principles and rules of official statistics, by aligning statistical products and services with the existing quality standard.
- The NSS is further harmonized with the EU acquis in statistics to ensure sufficient and reliable evidence for national decision- making and international comparability.
- New technologies are used for statistical production and an integrated information system is developed that covers the whole statistical process.

Assist the NBS to develop the Integrated Automated Information System (IAIS) to modernise and address growing user’s demand.
Support NBS in documenting statistical surveys according to the GSBPM standards.
Support the design and the implementation of a quality management framework (QMF) for National Bureau of Statitis staff.
