On Friday, January 26, we learned about renewable energy and built wind turbines during the “Clean Energy” workshop at the Europe Café.

Clean energy is the kind of energy that can be produced without causing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Clean or renewable energy comes from inexhaustible, naturally reproducing resources. Wind energy is one such type of energy as it is generated by transferring wind energy from a wind turbine. This is why we focused on making such turbines, in miniature, during the workshop.

We are glad that the Young European Ambassadors joined us. Together with the members of the Euro Clubs from the high schools in Chisinau and Durlesti, we created samples of turbines that they will also build with the younger students in their high schools.

We also had a special guest, Irina Țerigradean, Head of the Directorate, National Center for Sustainable Energy, who told us about the importance of energy efficiency measures and helped us understand how things in practice work. Now each Euro Club has its wind turbine. We can’t wait to see the other members’ creations!

We thank the members of the Euro Clubs from the “Spiru Haret” and “Alexei Mateevici” high schools in Chisinau and the Euro Club from the “Hyperion” high school in Durlești and the Young European Ambassadors team for their active participation and good mood.
