With the support of the European Union, about 37,000 citizens from Falesti and Drochia benefit from improved water supply services
On 20 October 2021, the European Union funded projects on improving water supply services (WSS) were inaugurated in Falesti and Drochia. The aim of these projects implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (RDA) in cooperation with the EU-funded project “Modernisation of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova” is to provide the inhabitants of Falesti and Drochia with improved water supply services.
The total value of the project “Improving Water Supply services in the Falesti town” is 35.87 million lei, of which 32.56 million lei – granted by the European Union, and 3.30 million lei – local contribution. 16,450 inhabitants of Falesti will benefit from drinking water supply services.
The total value of the project “Improving Water Supply services in the Drochia town” is 91.73 million lei, of which 85.25 million lei – granted by the European Union, and 6.47 million lei – local contribution. 20,295 inhabitants of Drochia will benefit from drinking water supply services.The inauguration events of the projects of improving water supply services in the cities of Falesti and Drochia are part of the series of events organized by the North RDA in the context of the Northen Development Region Days, 7th edition. The investment measures “Improving water supply services in the Falesti town” and “Improving water supply services in the Drochia town” are financed by the European Union and implemented by the North RDA and the project “Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova” (MSPL). The MSPL project is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and it is implemented by GIZ Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova.
