Over 30 young people have participated in a discussion on gender stereotypes, girl’s and boy’s rights, free choice, and equal opportunities. The event was organised by EVA Project „Promoting gender equality in Cahul and Ungheni districts”, financed by European Union, and implemented by UN Women in partnership with UNICEF.

In Zîrneşti village, Cahul district, the first public discussion „Gender equality – equal chances”, took place within the „Youth and local authorities united for a community without violence and gender stereotypes” project, implemented by Media Centre for Youth. In the near future, Media Centre for Youth will also organise public discussions on gender equality in other areas in the Republic of Moldova. These activities are a part of the „Youth and local authorities united for a community without violence and gender stereotypes”, a project which will be implemented by Media Centre for Youth, between 2021-2022. In 2021, the Media Centre for Youth team will reach to 14 localities in Cahul and Ungheni districts, where two public discussions on gender equality will be organised. One – for youth, and the other one – for adult people. In 2022, the most actively involved young people from those 14 villages will be invited to the „Media Gender Camp” summer school. Adult people will be trained and involved in writing of local initiatives for their communities. These activities are being conducted within EVA Project „Promoting gender equality in Cahul and Ungheni districts”, financed by European Union, and implemented by UN Women in partnership with UNICEF.
