The National Army receives modern logistics vehicles from the European Union
The National Army of the Republic of Moldova has received a new batch of logistics vehicles from the European Union through the European Peace Facility (EPF). The delivery includes buses, trucks, minibuses, SUVs, and pickup trucks.
During the official handover ceremony held at Military Camp 142, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi expressed appreciation for the EU’s responsiveness and support through the EPF assistance platform, emphasizing its importance for the modernization of the National Army.

“This support, among many others, is a clear example of the effective cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union and a proof of our shared commitment to strengthening our defense capabilities. I would like to thank the representatives of the EU Delegation to Moldova, as well as the European institutions and states that contributed to the implementation of this important project for our National Army. My gratitude also goes to all those who took part in the negotiations and facilitated the delivery of this batch to the Republic of Moldova,” said Anatolie Nosatîi.
In turn, the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Máté Csicsai, stated: “The EU’s support in the field of security and defense is guided by a clear principle – strengthening the Republic of Moldova’s capacity to protect its citizens while fully respecting its constitutional neutrality. Our assistance focuses on modernization, efficiency, and preparedness to address challenges in a peaceful and responsible manner. Today’s ceremony marks another important step in developing our partnership – one based on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to peace and stability”.
The assistance batch provided includes 66 vehicles, with a total value estimated at over 5 million euros.
It should be noted that in 2021, the European Union launched the European Peace Facility as a support platform, and that same year, the European Council approved the first tranche of aid for the Republic of Moldova’s defense system.
Initially, the financial assistance package amounted to 7 million euros. Later, this support increased to 197 million euros. The assistance aims to strengthen Moldova’s defense capacities by equipping the National Army with medical, engineering, logistical, tactical communications, air surveillance, command and control, mobility, and cyber defense equipment.
