“The Price of a Smile” by Ionela Hadârcă

“The Price of a Smile,” the latest book by Ionela Hadârcă, was presented on December 10, 2025, at Cărturești, highlighting women’s strength and their ability to face everyday challenges. The volume addresses highly relevant topics, carries emotional impact, and resonates with society as a whole.

In the book, Ionela Hadârcă emphasizes the importance of solidarity among women and self-acceptance. The volume underlines that women’s happiness and balance depend on understanding their own needs and physiological particularities, and that mutual support can make life more harmonious.

Present at the event, the European Union Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Iwona Piórko, stated:
“Values such as gender equality, women’s rights, mental health, and all the guarantees of a modern society and democracy are not only principles we cherish, but also law, and Moldova has committed to uphold them in its European path.”

The book launch attracted an impressive number of readers, who waited for hours to receive autographs. Many participants shared positive impressions, appreciating the new perspectives on self-acceptance and emotional management.
