Congaz: Support for a business built around Gagauz recipes and traditions

In Congaz, the Găgăuz Sofrasi agritourism guesthouse has become one of the area’s best-known culinary attractions. It offers visitors the opportunity to discover Gagauzia through its hospitality and local cuisine. Its founder, Ana Statova, developed the business with support from several grants funded by the European Union and managed by the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), amounting to a total of 800,000 lei.
European financial support has contributed to the development of a business that showcases local traditions and brings them closer to tourists.
Ana Statova’s plans go beyond welcoming guests: “My biggest dream is to develop traditional cuisine and, of course, to package our kaurma so we can export it to Europe and people there can enjoy it too.”
