Ceadîr-Lunga: Warmer classrooms and solar energy at Andrieș Kindergarten

Before the renovation, the classrooms at Andrieș Kindergarten No. 8 were cold in winter, and heating costs were high. Today, the largest kindergarten in Gagauzia provides more comfortable conditions for 278 children across 13 groups and for its 36 educators.

The works included insulating the building, modernising the internal heating system and installing photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 30 kW. The food storage area was also renovated, while the courtyard was improved with pathways, pavements, access routes and an outdoor stage for educational and cultural activities.

“Before the renovation, our classrooms were cold in winter, and heating costs were high. […] This season, we reduced gas consumption by 35%, which means significant savings for the institution and resources that can be invested directly in children’s education,” said Natalia Cîvîrjic, Director of Andrieș Kindergarten.

The renovation was carried out under the EU4Moldova Resilient: Safe State, Strong Communities project, funded by the EU and implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova. EU contribution: approximately 4 million lei; total budget: around 6 million lei.
