Comrat: A bypass road that diverts through traffic away from the city

For residents of Comrat, traffic heading towards the south of the country no longer has to pass entirely through the city. Thanks to European investment, the bypass road, opened to traffic in September 2022, allows transit vehicles to continue along the M3 route without crossing the city. This change helps reduce congestion, travel time and traffic risks.

The 18.3-kilometre route includes three roundabouts, five bridges, an overpass above the railway and four grade-separated intersections. It is an important investment not only for Comrat, but also for road connections towards Giurgiulești and freight transport in the south of the country.

The project was implemented with financial support from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Project value: approximately €29.4 million.
