Comrat: After 17 years in Italy, she returned home to start a business

After spending 17 years in Italy, Angela Hortolomei returned to Comrat and opened the MÎNĂ DE AJUTOR social-medical centre. She chose to invest in a service for children, young people, adults and older people who need support and rehabilitation.
Through the PARE 1+2 programme, the entrepreneur received training and 250,000 lei in financial support from the European Union. The funding helped create a space where people of different ages can receive care and rehabilitation assistance.
Angela’s story shows how returning from the diaspora can bring a new initiative to a community. For her, European support complemented her own investment in a business built around people’s needs.
