EU4Culture II: Open Call for Proposals for the Establishment of Living Labs in the Republic of Moldova
Goethe-Institut within EU-funded EU4Culture II programme invites Cultural and Creative Organisations from the Republic of Moldova for participation in the Stage I of Open Call for Proposals for Establishment of Creative Platforms – Living Labs.
Selected applicants will receive support of up to EUR 9,500 to establish Living Labs in Cahul and Ungheni regions and to co-create local creative ecosystem development Roadmaps. Upon successful completion of Stage I, the grantees will be invited to a restricted call (Stage II – funding up to EUR 60,000) to implement, evaluate and refine the roadmap solutions.
Stage I supports the establishment of two Living Labs in:
- Cahul (outreach to Gagauzia) (1 Living Lab)
Sectoral Focus: performing arts, visual arts, applied arts (crafts), design, digital and new media - Ungheni (outreach to Bălți) (1 Living Lab)
Sectoral Focus: performing arts, visual arts, applied arts (crafts), design, digital and new media
Selected applicants of Stage I will:
- bring together relevant local stakeholders;
- apply participatory and co-creation approaches;
- analyse local ecosystem needs and opportunities;
- jointly develop a local creative ecosystem development roadmap.
Selected applicants of Stage I will receive:
- financial support of up to EUR 9,500;
- mentoring and capacity development support;
- international networking opportunities.
Submitted proposals under this call must directly contribute to strengthening the creative ecosystem in Cahul and Ungheni regions and should primarily focus on the performing arts, visual arts, applied arts (crafts), design, digital and new media.

Background Information
EU4Culture II – Sustainable Creative Ecosystems is a regional programme funded by the European Union with a EUR 10 million budget and implemented by the Goethe-Institut. Recognised as a Flagship action under European Commission’s Culture Compass for Europe the programme will strengthen the cultural and creative sectors as drivers of economic growth, social cohesion and resilience across the Eastern Partnership (EaP).
