Today, 21 October, 2024, following the conclusion of vote counting for both the Referendum and the first round of the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, issued an official statement addressed to Moldova.
“Congratulations to the people of Moldova and to you, Maia Sandu. You’ve done it again! In the face of Russia’s hybrid tactics, Moldova shows that it is independent, it is strong and it wants a European future!
