EU4Energy: New web platform for monitoring energy efficiency measures in Moldova
- Energy & energy efficiency
- Connectivity, energy efficiency, environment and climate change
On 30 June, EU4Energy Governance finalised the technical assistance project to support Moldovan authorities in developing the Monitoring and Verification Platform. The web-based tool will assist in measuring progress towards energy efficiency targets and calculating energy savings.
The assistance is part of the EU4Energy support for the Republic of Moldova in fulfilling its commitments under the Energy Community Treaty.
The ‘EU4Energy’ initiative covers all EU support to improve energy supply, security and connectivity. It promotes energy efficiency and use of renewables in the Eastern partner countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). The initiative does this by financing projects and programmes that help reform energy markets and reduce national energy dependence and consumption. In the longer term, this makes energy supply more reliable, transparent and affordable, reducing energy poverty and energy bills for both citizens and the private sector.
