Discover EU investments in ATU Gagauzia!
We search, ask, and talk to the locals
The European Union has invested a record amount in the transformation and renovation of Gagauzia. EU support reaches places that matter in the daily lives of the region’s residents: road repairs and construction, kindergartens, medical offices and the development of local businesses. In Ceadîr-Lunga, the renovation of Andrieș Kindergarten has helped provide warmer winters for 278 children while reducing gas consumption. In Comrat, entrepreneurs have received support to modernise dental services, open a social-medical centre and access business consultancy.
Thanks to European Union grants, many residents have returned from abroad and started businesses at home.
In villages, European funding supports initiatives that make use of local resources and preserve the area’s identity. In Cazaclia, a family business has grown from an apiary into a producer of honey and artisanal chocolate. In Congaz, the Găgăuz Sofrasi agritourism guesthouse combines hospitality with traditional cuisine, while in Gaidar, the restoration of the windmill preserves part of the community’s history. In Copceac, EU support is helping modernise the village centre.
The Where’s the Money? campaign follows EU investments in ten districts and areas across the country, including Gagauzia, starting with simple questions: what has been done, where and for whom? Here, the answers can be found in better services, equipment for businesses and improved community spaces.
