The total project budget is 5 million euros. Within the framework of the general project, the program “Support to Local Authorities of the ATU Gagauzia” (SLPA) was launched with a duration of 24 months and a contribution from the European Union in the amount of 3 million euros.

One of the important components of the SLPA project is the CBM IV grant program for small-scale infrastructure for local public administration authorities of the ATU Gagauzia, which started in mid-2018.

The program covered small infrastructure projects that have an impact on economic development. Financial support (co-financing) is allocated for the implementation of projects aimed at promoting local development in the following three priority areas: Business Support Infrastructure, Basic infrastructure of local public services, Tourism infrastructure.

The program covered all the mayoralties of the settlements of the ATU Gagauzia. Based on the results of a qualified selection, the technical secretariat recommended the signing of agreements on financing the implementation of 20 projects in 20 settlements of Gagauzia for a total of almost 49 million lei, of which the contribution of the European Union will amount to more than 23 million lei.

Other priorities of the SLPA program are the disclosure of the tourism potential of Gagauzia, the improvement of public places, waste management, the repair of public and social facilities.

A project is also being successfully implemented to provide financial support for the development of new businesses (startups), as well as small and medium-sized enterprises of Gagauzia, in accordance with the component of the SLPA program - “Competition for the provision of financial support through grants for new and existing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises” .

The maximum amount of financial support is up to 400 000 lei (20 000 euros), which is 80% of the amount of investments, with a 20% contribution of grant beneficiaries. The total amount of the project is more than 6 million lei. Over 20 grant recipients based on the results of the competition.

Support and expand the powers of the local authorities of ATU Gagauzia to implement and monitor development priorities in cooperation with the central authorities of Moldova.
