Social Services for Persons with Disabilities to Increase the Confidence between the both Banks of the Nistru river

Project Description
The main objective of the project is to support the confidence building measures between both banks of Nistru river and ATU Gagauzia by developing the social protection system and ensuring respecting rights of persons with disabilities.
Specific Objective
The objective is achieved through the following:
Improving the access and quality of social services for persons with disabilities by developing 5 mobile team services (in Causeni, Stefan Voda, ATU of Gagauzia, Tiraspol and Slobozia) and a Day Care Center for children with disabilities in Caragas, Slobozia;
Capacities building of the main stakeholders (local public authorities, NGOs, services staff, parents etc.) in social inclusion of persons with disabilities and sharing experiences between the rayons from the both sides of river Nistru and ATU Gagauzia;
Prevention of discrimination of persons with disabilities through the innovative methods of social theatre forum and capacity building of journalists.
Expected Results
- 5 mobile teams and a Day Center for children with disabilities created and developed.
- 125 children and their families from those 5 rayons will annually benefit of homebased social care services provided by mobile teams.
- 150 representatives of the local public authorities from 5 rayons will receive training in the field of social inclusion of people with disabilities.
- 15 NGOs will receive training in the field of non-discrimination and advocacy.
- 10 persons with disabilities will join the self-representation platform.
- About 1500 pupils and teachers will have a tolerant and friendly attitude towards persons with disabilities, as a result of participation in the representations of social theater.
