The Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova met online with the EU Information Centres, promoters of European values

The Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks, met in an online event with the representatives of the Euro Clubs and Information Centres of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova. Participants shared common views on the need to communicate and promote EU assistance and its impact on the Republic of Moldova, especially among young people. They also talked about the experience gained in 2021, but also about the action plan and future activities.

Jānis Mažeiks emphasized the importance of Euro Clubs and Information Centers in ensuring the connection between all citizens of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Information Center and Euro Club Coordinators work daily to inform their communities about EU values and support provided for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

The Euro Clubs and Information Centers of the European Union (EUIC) are an extensive network of information multipliers about the European Union’s contribution to the development of the Republic of Moldova, improving the quality of life of citizens, tangible results of ongoing EU support and opportunities that can be accessed by members of communities where they operate. The Euro Clubs and Information Centers of the European Union contribute to gathering and disseminating knowledge regarding European topics: policies, institutions, community programmes, neighborhood relations, etc. At the same time, they stimulate citizens’ interest regarding the cooperation relations between the European Union and the Republic Moldova.

Currently, 29 EUICs and Euro Clubs operate throughout the Republic of Moldova. The activity of the Euro Clubs and Information Centres is being supported by the European Union.
